The crazy history of F1 in Las Vegas at the Caesars Palace Grand Prix
While the 2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix is generating a lot of excitement and anticipation, it’s important to note that Formula 1 has previously held events in Las Vegas. The city hosted the Formula 1 World Championship race from 1981 to 1982 at the Caesar’s Palace Circuit. This made Las Vegas one of the few cities in the United States to have a Formula 1 race. The original circuit was a temporary street circuit located in the parking lot of the Caesar’s Palace hotel and resort. Although the race was short-lived and faced challenges, it remains a memorable part of Formula 1 history in Las Vegas.
